From Dinner To Dessert: Pie Contest and Turkey Tasting

Do you love to bake pies? Do you make a certain pie that you just know is a blue-ribbon winner? Why not enter it in East Morgan County Library District’s 1st Annual Pie Contest? The contest will be held at 6 pm on Tuesday, November 15th. Our panel of distinguished judges will evaluate pies based on the following criteria, with one 1st-place winner in each of three categories (Cream, Fruit, and Other). All pies will be judged based on appearance, crust, and taste. A Grand Prize will be awarded to Best Overall Pie. Bring a copy of your recipe to share, if you like.

Participants may enter up to TWO pies in the contest. Pies may be brought to the Carnegie Room from 5:30-6 pm, with judging commencing at 6. Feel free to stay and watch the judging, or join us in the Activity Room for our Turkey Tips and Tasting program. Learn the process of smoking a turkey from start to finish, and sample an already-prepared turkey. You do not need to enter a pie in the contest in order to participate in the turkey program.

Pie contest prizes will be awarded after the Turkey program, at approximately 7 pm. We look forward to seeing you!
